County news - Lancashire sign Jos Buttler

Lancashire have signed England's right-handed batsman-wicketkeeper Jos Buttler from Somerset . The 23-year-old, Buttler leave Somerset to pursue more opportunities as a wicketkeeper-batsman at Lancashire. As a wicketkeeper the first choice of Somerset is Craig Kieswetter and with lesser opportunities on his way, Buttler made a swoop to Lancashire. Buttler said  " They have a strong squad and are very ambitious to build on this season's achievement. The club has an exceptional coaching staff which will help me to continue to develop as a keeper batsman. " Buttler made made ODI debut in February 2012 and has played 19 games since then. In just 25 T20Is, Buttler has scored 286 runs.

India T20 and ODIs squad against Australia October 2013

India's all-rounder, Yuvraj Singh has made a comeback to Twenty20 and first three ODIs squad for the home series against Australia , starting from 10-October-2013. The 31-year-old, Yuvraj played his last ODI against England in Dharamsala, January 2013. The seam-bowlers Shami and Unadkat have been retained. Mahendra Singh Dhoni will lead the side for the entire home series against Australia. Pakistan Test Cricket - Misbah to lead against South Africa

Pakistan Right-handed batsman, Misbah-ul-Haq has been retained as skipper for the test series against South Africa in next month, announced by the Pakistan Cricket Board on Thursday, The complete test squad for the series will be announced later. The 23-year-old, Umar Amin will lead Pakistan A for three-day warmup game against the Proteas. The two tests to be played in Abu Dhabi from Oct. 14-18, and in Dubai the following week. After that five ODI's and two Twenty20s internationals to be played between both of them. Yorkshire re-sign NZ international Kane Williamson

New Zealand international Kane Williamson, 23, has signed Yorkshire for the 2014 season. previously Kane who joined Yorkshire in august  for the last five games of the County Championship . The director of Yorkshire's cricket, Martyn Moxon said, " It is great news to have Kane on board for next season, He has settled in well and is a popular member of the dressing room. We have seen him excel in four-day cricket in the short time he has been with us and I have no doubt that he will be a tremendous asset in all forms of the game next season. " "For a young man, he has already gained a massive amount of experience playing at the highest level against the best teams in the world. He should be available for the majority of next season and play his part in our efforts to be successful and competitive in all forms of the game."

Yorkshire's batsman Gary Ballance, has been selected in England's squad for Ashes in Australia . Monty Panesar has been selected as back-up spinner to Graeme Swann. Australia ODI Squad for India Tour

Australian wicketkeeper Matthew Wade has been ruled out from Australia's ODI 14-man squad in favour of Brad Haddin for the upcoming tour of India . Xavier Doherty has been included in place of Fawad Ahmed . The national selector, John Inverarity , said: " After a long tour Michael Clarke's back condition has flared up again and he has been selected subject to fitness, He has returned to Australia for further assessment and the national selection panel hopes that it will improve in time for the Indian tour. County Championship - Durham wins the title

Durham clinched their third County Championship in six years with an eight-wicket victory over Nottinghamshire on Thursday. The third day's morning session was washed out with the rain but after the lunch when play resumed,the hosts just needed 62 more runs to win the title. Durham captain and the former England batsman Paul Collingwood produced great players in their side. They were also without their coach Geoff Cook after he suffered a heart attack.

County Cricket - Jacques Rudolph Joins Glamorgan

South Africa batsman Jacques Rudolph has signed a two-year deal with County club Glamorgan . Left-handed batsman Rudolph is the one of the most experienced player in international and county cricket and he is set to replace Marcus North for 2014 and 2015 county season. The 32-year-old Rudolph spent his last season with Surrey and with Yorkshire from 2007 to 2011. Rudolph said: " I'm delighted to be joining Glamorgan on a two-year deal. I enjoyed my time playing for Yorkshire so I'm looking forward to the challenge at Glamorgan and hopefully enjoying similar success. "

India - Irfan Pathan sidelined for six weeks

India's medium-pacer Irfan Pathan has been ruled out for almost six weeks with a rib injury. Irfan had been a part of India A squad for the ongoing ODI series against West Indies A. " It was a recent injury, it happened when I was bowling in Bangalore [the venue of India A one-day matches], " he told to media. " Should be back on the field in around 6 weeks. I understand a few fans are disappointed, so am I. But don't worry #faith, " he tweeted.

Perth Scorchers Squad for Champions League

There is a bad news for Perth Scorchers fans out there, Fast bowler Alfonso Thomas will not be available for the Champions League as Somerset from the county have chosen to retain him for the ongoing season. Shaun Marsh has also been ruled out of the Champions League due to recently pulled up with a hamstring injury. Fast bowler Joe Mennie from South Australia will replace Alfonso Thomas, whereas Marcus North will replace Shaun Marsh. " It is obviously disappointing not to have Alfonso available, " Ben Oliver, the general manager of cricket operations for Perth Scorchers, said. " However, it is not unexpected and is part of the landscape of Twenty20 cricket. "In saying this, it is a great opportunity for Joe, who is a talented young bowler who performed well for us in last year's CLT20 tournament.
