Smith's Injury keeps out of Champions League

South Africa cricket Test captain Graeme Smith has withdraw from the Champions League Twenty20 tournament due to his knee surgery.

CSA said : Smith had an injury when he was playing for Pune Warriors in the IPL-4 in April and underwent a proper cartilage operation on Friday.

Proteas team manager Mohammed Moosajee said "Although his rehabilitation period will be over by the time the Champions League commences, we feel that he will not ready at the time."

"He will now in a guided rehabilitation process in the coming weeks and hopefully he'll recover in time for the start of a busy international summer cricket."

The Proteas host Australia in three one-dayers, two Tests and two T20 from 13th October, followed by a three Test and five ODI series against Sri Lanka.

Nathan Bracken sues Cricket Australia

Melbourne, Thursday, October 13, 2011 Former Australian fast bowler Nathan bracken has taken Cricket Australia (CA) to the court, claiming that when he was struggling with his chronic knee injury then he did not receive any compensation for lost wages, damages and medical expenses from Cricket Australia.
