100 Sri Lankan cricketers not paid yet

Nearly 100 Sri Lankan cricketers have not been paid since the World Cup 2011 in April due to the huge debt that the Sri Lanka Cricket Board is facing. There are reports that the Sri Lanka Cricket Board may not be in a position to pay the players over the next couple of months.

Sri Lanka cricket Chief Upali Dharmadasa said in a media report, "There is a truth in those media reports to a certain extent Sri Lanka Cricket is still awaiting payment from the ICC for co-hosting the World Cup 2011. The ICC still owes us $4-5 million."

Sri Lanka ODI, T20 squad for Australia

Sri Lanka have announced a 16-man squad for the one-day and Twenty20 matches against Australia. The one-day series will be held from from January 11-23 across Australia, and the two T20 internationals will be played in Sydney on January 26 and Melbourne on January 28. Sri Lanka ODI, T20 squad : Mahela Jayawardene (captain), Angelo Mathews, Dinesh Chandimal, Lasith Malinga, Upul Tharanga, Lahiru Thirimanne, Ajantha Mendis, Jeevan Mendis, Tillakaratne Dilshan, Nuwan Kulasekara, Rangana Herath, Kushal Perera, Akila Dananjaya, Suranga Lakmal, Thisara Perera, Shaminda Eranga.
