Former fast bowler Rumesh Ratnayake has been appointed to the new coach of Sri Lanka cricket team for the series against Australia starting from 6th August.
Sri Lanka cricket chief Upali Dharmadasa said that, For Sri Lanka 23 Tests played between the 1983 and 1992, Rumesh Ratnayake will replace Australia's Stuart Law. Law was the team's assistant coach.
Dharmadasa said Ratnayake is limited to the appointment in the series against Australia of three Tests, five ODIs and a Twenty20 international match is included.
Former left-arm seamer Ratnayake took 73 Test wickets and 76 wickets in 70 ODIs
