England Set to be No. 1 Soon - Andrew Strauss


Andrew Strauss, England cricket Team captain believes his side will become the world number one in Test cricket.

After beating India by 196 runs at Lords in 1st Test, Now England has 1-0 lead in the 4 Test match series.

According to the Daily Telegraph Strauss was quoted as saying "To be number one you have to grab your opportunities and I think we did that very well in this game, It's the first of a four-match series but we've demonstrated that when we play well we're a match for anyone.
Now we just have to play well again."


He added "We are aware that this is just the opening salvo in the series, but Lord's is a hard wicket as the game goes on and the performance was outstanding"

Sri Lanka have announced a 16-man squad for the one-day and Twenty20 matches against Australia. The one-day series will be held from from January 11-23 across Australia, and the two T20 internationals will be played in Sydney on January 26 and Melbourne on January 28.
