In what could be a huge blow for England in their pursuit of T20 World Cup trophy, all-rounder Ben Stokes might miss the upcoming edition of the T20 World Cup in the UAE after the 30-year-old took an indefinite break from international cricket to take care of his mental well-being. He was set to take part in the Indian Premier League this year, representing Rajasthan Royals, but the talismanic all-rounder pulled out earlier. Stokes is also not a part of the ongoing five-match Test series against India. The T20 World Cup is slated to begin on October 17th few days after the conclusion of the IPL and Stokes’ availability in the tournament is still under the clouds.

Warwickshire have announced the signing of West Indies fast bowler Chemar Holder for the rest of the County Championship season. The 23-year-old is likely to make his debut at Lancashire on 30 August. The Barbados pacer became the third West Indies international the Bears have signed this summer after Carlos Brathwaite and Kyle Mayers. New Zealand Cricket named a 15-men squad for the ICC T20 World Cup 2021 and India T20Is on Tuesday. Kane Williamson will continue to lead the side for the upcoming tournament. The 2021 T20 World Cup will be played in Oman and the United Arab of Emirates from October 17 to November 14.
