Sri Lanka named 15-man squad for tri-series

The Left-handed opening batsman Upul Tharanga has been named as Sri Lanka’s captain for the ODI tri-series to be held in Zimbabwe, which includes West Indies. The regular skipper Angelo Mathews and vice-captain Dinesh Chandimal are both ruled out of the squad through injury. Sri Lanka's first ODI match in the tri-series will be against Zimbabwe on November 14. India vs England: James Anderson to miss first Test

England skipper Alastair Cook has confirmed that James Anderson will not be playing in the first Test in India as he struggles to recover from a shoulder injury. Due to a stress fracture in Anderson’s left shoulder right shoulder, the seamer also forced himself out of the current series in Bangladesh. The 34-year-old recently stated that he was hopeful of returning back to action in India, but he is unlikely to be part of the opening Test to be played in Rajkot on November 9. Anderson sustained the injury against Sri Lanka earlier this summer, and has not featured since August because of a stress fracture. He made his Test debut in 2003, and has claimed 463 wickets, makes him the England's leading wicket-taker.

India squad for the first three ODIs against NZ

Indian star batsman Suresh Raina and Hardik Pandya both have been recalled to the first three matches of the five-match One Day International series against New Zealand, that gets underway on October 16. The 15-member squad led by the wicketkeeper batsman Mahendra Singh Dhoni, who last played his limited over match in Zimbabwe in June. However, off-spinner Ravichandran Ashwin and all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja both have been ruled out of squad. The first match will be held in Dharamsala on October 16 followed by the 2nd in Delhi on October 20 while the third will be played at Mohali on October 23. Indian all-rounder Yuvraj Singh is all set to tie the knot with model-turned-actress Hazel Keech in December this year. Yuvraj's mother Shabnam Singh has revealed that the wedding will be before December 12, which is also the 34-year-old’s birthday. The couple, who opted for a low-key engagement in Bali, Indonesia, have been dating for quite some time now. Somerset have announced the signing of former England wicketkeeper Steve Davies, that will keep him at the County Ground, Taunton until 2019. The wicketkeeper-batsman Jos Buttler is reportedly set to lead the England's one-day international team for the upcoming tour of Bangladesh, with Eoin Morgan expected to withdraw from the tour for security reasons.
