The 30-year-old will replace uncapped Surrey all-rounder Zafar Ansari, who was unfit for the UAE test match series because of a hand injury . Patel who made his Test debut against Sri Lanka in 2012 - has scored 109 runs with four wickets in his five Test match career. The Black Caps will be playing three-Test match series starting in Brisbane on November 5, before traveling to Perth for the 2nd Test on November 13 and then the historic day/night showdown in Adelaide for third Test on November 27.
