Yorkshire CCC: Jack Shutt signs new contract until 2021

Yorkshire right-arm spinner Jack Shutt has committed himself to the White Rose after signing a new one-year contract extension that will keep him at the club until at least the end of 2021.

The 23-year-old all-rounder said: “I’m very pleased. I’ve played a little bit of first team cricket now and I feel like I’ve learnt a lot. I know what the level is that I need to get to, and hopefully I can improve my game going forward so that I can do well at that level.

“The only way that you can learn is by playing and being around players of that quality, so hopefully this summer will really stand me in good stead going forward.”

The youngster made his first-class debut against Durham last term and since gone on to play in three of the fixtures.

Shutt will join the fellow off-spinner Dom Bess at Headingley next season.
