The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has imposed a two-year ban on international spinner Asif Afridi from all cricket activities after the 36-year-old admitted to committing two offences under the PCB’s Anti-Corruption Code for Participants.
The offences in question could result in a ban for life, however, the PCB stated that they considered his confession, the extent of his remorse, and his prior record before reaching their decision.
Although Asif hasn't represented Pakistan in international cricket, he was included in the T20I and ODI teams for Australia's tour of Pakistan in the previous year.
Asif is from Peshawar and has participated in 35 first-class, 45 List A, and 65 T20 matches to date.
