The 15th edition of the Indian Premier League marks the return of the most exciting sporting spectacle to its home turf as Tata IPL 2022 returns to India this year.

Tata IPL 2022 will host matches across stadia in Mumbai, Navi Mumbai and Pune in the state of Maharashtra this year. The season is bigger and better than ever before with Season 15 of the franchise housing 10 teams this year. The 10 teams that will be battling for the coveted title include defending champions Chennai Super Kings, Mumbai Indians, Delhi Capitals, Gujarat Titans, Kolkata Knight Riders, Lucknow Super Giants, Punjab Kings, Rajasthan Royals, Royal Challengers Bangalore and Sunrisers Hyderabad.

In its 15th season yet, Tata IPL 2022 will see 70 matches played across 4 stadia in Maharashtra with complete Covid protocols maintained for fans to experience the most awaited sporting extravaganza safely. Out of the 70 matches, 20 each will be held at Wankhede Stadium (Mumbai) and DY Patil Sports Stadium (Navi Mumbai), with 15 matches each at Brabourne Stadium (Mumbai) and MCA International Stadium (Pune).

Tata IPL 2022 will kickstart with the first match on Saturday, March 26 at the Wankhede Stadium between defending champions Chennai Super Kings and Kolkata Knight Riders. Tickets for all matches across all 4 stadia will be available only online on BookMyShow.

IPL Spot-fixing, Sreesanth and 2 other Rajasthan Royals players held

Three Rajasthan Royals players, Sreesanth , Ajit Chandila and Ankeet Chavan were arrested on Thursday for their alleged involvement in spot-fixing in the Indian Premier League (IPL) season 6. The trio allegedly received upto Rs 60 lakh for conceding runs in a pre-determined over from bookies with possible Mumbai underworld links. The special cell of the Delhi Police arrested Sreesanth and his teammates — Ajit Chandila and Ankeet Chavan — in Mumbai early this morning for indulging in spot-fixing in at least three IPL matches on May 5, 9 and 15. Eleven bookies have also been arrested from Delhi, Mumbai and Ahmedabad. The police are on the look-out for two more bookies. A Delhi court has sent the three players and all bookies to five-day police custody. The players, who have been suspended by the BCCI, have been brought to Delhi and charged under Section 420 (cheating) and 120-B (criminal conspiracy).
