The England youngster who can star for the next generation

Even though there are many different forms of cricket, there’s still something special about Test cricket. It appeals to fans and traditionalists of the game and for many English cricketers it’s the pinnacle, with the Ashes against Australia the most hotly anticipated clash on the calendar for the country. So, if a potential star emerges at that level, it’s exciting for all involved. And, that could be the case with Zak Crawley after the Kent batsman announced himself on the biggest stage with his remarkable performance against Pakistan earlier this year, where he scored an incredible 267. Zak Crawley is the Player of the Match for his 267 👏 👏 #ENGvPAK pic.twitter.com/GgUhWkdVH2 — Wisden (@WisdenCricket) August 25, 2020 The fact English cricket favourite Paul Collingwood singled the player out for praise in 2019 shows that he has been on the radar of the national team for some time. However, few could have expected him to burst onto the scene in the way he did with that impressive

Played and Missed

There was something missing this summer. It wasn’t great cricket, exciting matches or individual achievements. It was crowds. Australia beat England in the one-day series but lost in the Twenty20 games. Ireland overhauled England’s 328 to win the third one-day international. Pakistan could not maintain the excellence of their bowling in their first Test in England but managed to draw the one-day series. And the West Indies, too, failed to capitalise on their first Test victory to lose their series 2-1. There were some fine innings, some great bowling not to mention milestones like Stuart Broad’s 500th Test wicket and Jimmy Anderson’s 600th. We were lucky to have any cricket at all during the summer of 2020. But the absence of the cricket-loving public reminded you, ball by ball, that this was not how the game is supposed to be enjoyed. It must have been as disappointing for the players as it was for the fans. International cricket needs a crowd. It needs the joy and despair of thousan

Betting on the IPL 2020 Tournament

There are quite a few ways in which people bet on cricket matches. Right from the toss to scoring number of runs to winning the match, bets are placed on every aspect of the game. People bet on who will win the toss, score more runs in the powerplay, who will hit a greater number of boundaries, which player will be the top performer, who will take more wickets and eventually who will win the game or even who will win the entire tournament.
