T20 World Cup 2020 ‘Looks unrealistic’, says CA chairman

In the midst of the coronavirus pandemic followed by lockdown across the globe, cricketing boards are considering all options to organise tournaments or bilateral series.

Recently, the West Indies team touched down in the UK to prepare for the Test series against England which gets underway on July 9.

However, cricket fans are keeping a close eye on the 2020 biggest competition - the T20 World Cup, in Australia later this year. But the Cricket Australia (CA) chairman Earl Eddings gave hints that the event may face hurdles.

He spoke to local media and stated that it would be ‘unrealistic’ to organise the T20I World Cup this year in the midst of a global coronavirus pandemic.

The tournament slated to be played from October 18 to November 15 in Downunder.
