5 Pakistan players to watch out for the Sri Lanka tour

Pakistan will play three Tests followed by five ODIs and two Twenty20 internationals against Sri Lanka, starting June 17 in Colombo.

The international bilateral series, considered as one of the longest series during summer 2015 and both teams will battle it out during the hottest weather of the season.

Here are top five Pakistan players to watch out for,

Ehsan Adil

The 22-year-old hasn’t played much but provided good support to the likes of Pakistan primary pacer Wahab Riaz in the recently ICC Cricket World Cup 2015.

Mohammed Imran Khan

The right arm fast bowler has claimed nine wickets in four Tests. He earned his place into the Test team following his consistence performance in the domestic cricket.

Shan Masood

The 25-year-old got selected on the basis of his stellar performance in the domestic circuit. His gutsy 75 runs against a formidable South African makes him one of the greatest batsman in Pakistan cricket.

Zulfiqar Babar

Babar, the oldest cricketer from Pakistan to make his T20 debut, against South Africa, picking up 27 wickets in 5 matches.

He will certainly be the key player for the Pakistan. With Saeed Ajmal has been dropped due to poor performance, Babar has got a wealth of experience to the domestic cricket where he has more than 300 wickets under his belt.

Haris Sohail

Haris Sohail has got an average of 52 in first class cricket and 43 in one day internationals is no brickbat and will certainly look to build his position permanently in the team by giving 100 percent  against the Lankans in their den.

Reflecting on his 18-year journey, he expressed gratitude, saying, “To play such a big series against the team I began my Test career against and at grounds so special to me is the perfect way to bow out.” The veteran has struggled recently, managing only three wickets on the spin-friendly pitches in India. He relinquished the Test captaincy to Tom Latham on that tour, underscoring his commitment to a gradual transition. Coach Gary Stead praised Southee’s endurance and competitive spirit, calling him “an incredibly tough competitor.” New Zealand have named a 14-man squad fo...
