Geraint Jones pens two-year Gloucestershire deal

Former England wicket-keeper Geraint Jones has joined Gloucestershire after signing a two-year deal with the club. The 38-year-old, who was part of the England team in Ashes 2005, has played 34 Tests and 49 ODIs for England. The Papua New Guinea-born right-handed batsman will replace the Australian opener Michael Klinger and will captain the side in the LV= County Championship next season. "I'd like to thank Kent for the fantastic 15 seasons I spent with them," Jones told the club's official website . "Following an enjoyable month with Gloucestershire during 2014, I am excited to be joining the club and for the challenges that lie ahead. "This is a young and talented squad and I relish the opportunity of working with them and to playing a part in their development.” Jones has scored 8,615 runs and took 586 catches and 36 stumpings in 193 first-class cricket. Schedule: Sri Lanka Tour of India 2014

The BCCI have announced the schedule for the 5-match One Day International series between India and Sri Lanka, starting from next month on November 2 at Cuttack. CONFIRMED: Eoin Morgan returns to Sydney Thunder

Sydney Thunder have confirmed that the England international Eoin Morgan will feature in the upcoming Big Bash League, staring from 18 December 2014 to 28 January 2015. He is agreed to play in yet another four games, before joining the England squad for the ICC World Cup 2015. Morgan will join the star batsman Usman Khawaja, Jacques Kallis and Mike Hussey, which seems to be a good line up for Thunder this season. Morgan's England teammates Michael Lumb and Alex Hales have also signed to play in the BBL with the Sydney Sixers and Hobart Hurricanes respectively.

Big Bash League: Andrew Flintoff set to sign Brisbane Heat

The former England all-rounder Andrew Flintoff is close to signing a deal to play in the Australian Twenty20 Big Bash tournament with Brisbane Heat - starting on December 18, according to the Daily Telegraph . Flintoff, 36, retired from international cricket in 2009 and recently made a surprise return in professional cricket for his former club Lancashire and featured in the T20 Blast Final earlier this year. The report claims that Brisbane Heat head coach Stuart Law has confirmed that he has been in discussions with Andrew Flintoff about him playing in BBL. "We've had discussions with Freddie and if things go well, hopefully we will be able to confirm next week that he will play some part in the Big Bash for us," Law told the Manchester Evening News . Indian cricket captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni has been ranked fifth in Forbes’ world’s most valuable sports athlete brands list. Forbes quotes that the 33-year-old wicket-keeper batsman has a brand value of $20m in 2014. He is the only Indian sports athlete to feature on Forbes' list of the world's most valuable athlete brands.

The middle-order batsman Suresh Raina scored an unbeaten 109 in just 62 balls in the Champions League T20 (CLT20) finals against the reigning IPL Champions Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR). South Africa squad for tour of New Zealand and Australia

South Africa have announced the limited-overs squad for the tour of New Zealand and Australia, starting later this month. South Africa bowler Vernon Philander has been added to the 50-over format squad and will be available for the three ODIs in New Zealand, five ODIs in Australia.
