Samaraweera signs Worcestershire


Sri Lanka middle-order batsman Thilan Samaraweera has signed Worcestershire for the 2013 English county season.


Since 2001, he has played 81 Tests for Sri Lanka with an average of 48.76

"Playing county cricket has been one of my long term career ambitions," Samaraweera said in a release issued by the county. "I am extremely grateful to Steve Rhodes and Worcestershire CCC for giving me the opportunity to fulfill this ambition and I look forward to repaying this faith by making significant contributions on the field this season. I can't wait to arrive in April and get started with the boys and pull on the Worcestershire shirt for the first time."

Sri Lanka ODI, T20 squad for Australia

Sri Lanka have announced a 16-man squad for the one-day and Twenty20 matches against Australia. The one-day series will be held from from January 11-23 across Australia, and the two T20 internationals will be played in Sydney on January 26 and Melbourne on January 28.
