Robbie Williams joins Leicestershire

Middlesex right-arm seamer Robbie Williams joins Leicestershire on a one-year deal. Harry Pilling the Lancashire batsman dies

The former Lancashire right hander batsman, Harry Pilling has died at the age of 69. His career for the county from 1962 to 1980. In his first-class cricket career, in 333 matches Pilling made 15,279 runs with 25 hundred at 32.23 Jim Cumbes the Lancashire's outgoing chief executive said: " We are greatly saddened to hear about Harry's passing. He was a stalwart of the Lancashire side in the 1960s and 1970s and was a key member of the successful one-day teams from that era. "

Matthew Hayden quits cricket

Former Australian opener Matthew Hayden has announced his retirement from all forms of cricket and will not play in Australia's domestic Twenty20 Big Bash League (BBL) series this year. Hayden, 40, who already took retirement from Test cricket in 2009 said, " I will be pursuing my initial intention and agreement with the Heat of moving from the pitch to the boardroom, where I hope to continue to make a meaningful contribution to the Big Bash League and the Brisbane Heat . " In his 103 Tests career, Hayden scored 8,625 runs with 30 centuries. He also played 161 one-day internationals for Australia.

Daryl Tuffey Retires

New Zealand Fast bowler Daryl Tuffey has announced his retirement from cricket in all formats at the age of 34. In his 26 tests career, Tuffey took 77 wickets at an average of 31.75 and in 94 ODI, he claimed 110 wickets at 32.12 His best test bowling performance was six for 54 against England in Auckland in 2002.

James Anderson signs new deal with Lancashire

Miandad as a batting consultant for Pakistan
