India Squad for Sri Lanka tour


Opener batsman Virender Sehwag and paceman Zaheer Khan returned to a 15-man squad for a tour of Sri Lanka starting July 21. Sachin Tendulkar will skip the limited overs.


The chairman of selection committee Krishnamachari Srikkanth said, "We have the best available team. Sachin is not available. I think it is a very good side which has very strong batting line-up and good bowlers and we are confident that it will do well in Sri Lanka."

India Squad: Mahendra Singh Dhoni (captain), Virender Sehwag, Virat Kohli (vice-captain), Suresh Raina, Vinay Kumar, Gautam Gambhir, R Ashwin, Pragyan Ojha, Ajinkya Rahane, Zaheer Khan, Umesh Yadav, Manoj Tiwary, Rahul Sharma, Ashok Dinda, Rohit Sharma.

Update 14 July 2012 : Irfan Pathan will replace fast bowler Vinay Kumar with a hamstring injury.

Sri Lanka have announced a 16-man squad for the one-day and Twenty20 matches against Australia. The one-day series will be held from from January 11-23 across Australia, and the two T20 internationals will be played in Sydney on January 26 and Melbourne on January 28.
