Cricinfo's Test XI and ODI eleven of the year


Rahul dravid is the only Indian cricketer, who found a place in ESPN cricinfo Test-11 team of the year 2011, while five players, including Captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni were chosen for the ESPN cricinfo ODI XI.


Master blaster Sachin Tendulkar could not find a place in any team.

England players dominated ESPN cricinfo Test XI, because there are six players of England in the squad featuring Alastair Cook, James Anderson, Stuart Broad, Kevin Pietersen, Ian Bell and Matt Prior.

Other players are two players from Pakistan, opener batsman Mohammed Hafeez and off-spinner Saeed Ajmal. Darren Bravo from West Indies and fast bowler Dale Steyn from South Africa.

In the ODI X1, Virender Sehwag has been chosen as opener who recently scored the highest individual 219 runs against the West Indies.

ODI XI Squad: Virender Sehwag, Mahela Jayawardene, Shane Watson, Shahid Afridi, Virat Kohli, Mahendra Singh Dhoni, Yuvraj Singh, Mitchell Johnson, Saeed Ajmal, Zaheer Khan and Lasith Malinga.

IPL Spot-fixing, Sreesanth and 2 other Rajasthan Royals players held

Three Rajasthan Royals players, Sreesanth , Ajit Chandila and Ankeet Chavan were arrested on Thursday for their alleged involvement in spot-fixing in the Indian Premier League (IPL) season 6. The trio allegedly received upto Rs 60 lakh for conceding runs in a pre-determined over from bookies with possible Mumbai underworld links. The special cell of the Delhi Police arrested Sreesanth and his teammates — Ajit Chandila and Ankeet Chavan — in Mumbai early this morning for indulging in spot-fixing in at least three IPL matches on May 5, 9 and 15. Eleven bookies have also been arrested from Delhi, Mumbai and Ahmedabad. The police are on the look-out for two more bookies. A Delhi court has sent the three players and all bookies to five-day police custody. The players, who have been suspended by the BCCI, have been brought to Delhi and charged under Section 420 (cheating) and 120-B (criminal conspiracy).
