Brett Lee out of South Africa Tour

Australian great fast bowler Brett Lee has been ruled out of the ODI and Twenty-20 series against South Africa due to diagnosed with appendicitis.


Cricket Australia said in a statement due to have an operation in Cape Town, Brett Lee will away from cricket for six to eight weeks.

Alex Kountouris, Team physio said in a statement, "Brett Lee complained of some abdominal pain after arriving in Cape Town on Sunday. He will obviously be ruled out of the Twenty20 and ODI series in South Africa and is likely to return to cricket in six to eight weeks."

Australia will start their tour against South Africa with Twenty-20 match in Cape Town on Thursday.

The one-day series will be held from from January 11-23 across Australia, and the two T20 internationals will be played in Sydney on January 26 and Melbourne on January 28.
