Matthew Hayden signs for Brisbane Heat


Former Australian Test opener Matthew Hayden signs with Brisbane Heat in Big Bash Twenty20 League

In 2009 Hayden was retired from international cricket with 103-Test in his career, he played last in the 2010 for Chennai SuperKings in Indian Premier League.

Darren Lehmann coach of Brisbane Heat said "the 39-year-old was ready to return and make a splash in this summer's revamped domestic Twenty20 competition."
Lehmann said that Hayden was happy to do to take part in the Big Bash Twenty20 League.

One of the most explosive batsmen in international cricket, Hayden played only nine Twenty20 internationals for Australia in his career.
His averaged 43.80 with 10 centuries and 36 half centuries in a 161-match ODI career.
He will likely form an opening partnership with Brendon McCullum New Zealand international player.

The Big Bash Twenty20 League begins in late December.

IPL Spot-fixing, Sreesanth and 2 other Rajasthan Royals players held

Three Rajasthan Royals players, Sreesanth , Ajit Chandila and Ankeet Chavan were arrested on Thursday for their alleged involvement in spot-fixing in the Indian Premier League (IPL) season 6. The trio allegedly received upto Rs 60 lakh for conceding runs in a pre-determined over from bookies with possible Mumbai underworld links. The special cell of the Delhi Police arrested Sreesanth and his teammates — Ajit Chandila and Ankeet Chavan — in Mumbai early this morning for indulging in spot-fixing in at least three IPL matches on May 5, 9 and 15. Eleven bookies have also been arrested from Delhi, Mumbai and Ahmedabad. The police are on the look-out for two more bookies. A Delhi court has sent the three players and all bookies to five-day police custody. The players, who have been suspended by the BCCI, have been brought to Delhi and charged under Section 420 (cheating) and 120-B (criminal conspiracy).
