West Indies all-rounder Dwayne Bravo announces Test retirement

West Indies all-rounder Dwayne Bravo has announced his retirement from Test cricket, who played his last test match against Sri Lanka in December 2010. The 31-year-old’s announcement comes few weeks after his omission from the ICC Cricket World cup 2015 squad. Yorkshire sign Australian duo for 2015

The Yorkshire County Cricket Club have announced as their overseas signings of two Australian internationals Aaron Finch and Glenn Maxwell for the up-coming season. The 28-year-old Finch, who is currently the Australia's T20 captain - will be available in all forms of cricket when he returns from the Indian Premier League stint with Sunrisers Hyderabad in May. While, the 26 year old Maxwell will only available in the NatWest T20 Blast after his IPL campaign with Kings XI Punjab. Finch has scored five centuries in 40 ODIs for his country and averaged 48.50 for Yorkshire in last season. Tim Bresnan will play for England Lions

England selectors has confirmed that the right-arm fast-medium bowler Tim Bresnan will join the England Lions squad for the last three one-day matches against South Africa A. The 29-year-old, who is currently playing in Big Bash League with the Hobart Hurricanes but the England and Wales Cricket Board confirmed that the Yorkshire seamer will join the Lions squad for one-day international series against South Africa A on January 31. "The Lions one-day series in South Africa means we can have a group of players involved in high quality and competitive 50-over cricket in the weeks leading up to the World Cup," said national selector James Whitaker . "Joining the squad will give Tim the opportunity to show that he is ready to be considered if a replacement is required." Bresnan has claimed 204 wickets since making his England debut in 2006

Sri Lanka’s Kumar Sangakkara joins elite 12000 Test runs club

The Former Sri Lankan skipper Kumar Sangakkara became the fifth and the fastest batsman to reach 12,000 Test runs. The 37-year-old, who is regarded as one of the greatest batsman in the test cricket - joins the elite 12000 runs club with the likes of Sachin Tendulkar, Rahul Dravid, Jacques Kallis and Ricky Ponting. He achieved the milestone in his 224 Test innings, which is 23 innings lesser than the legendary Sachin Tendulkar and Ricky Ponting.
