Indian squad against sri lanka to be announced on July 4

The Indian cricket team to play five ODIs and a one Twenty20 International against Sri Lanka and the indian squad will be announced on July 4. The secretary of BCCI Sanjay Jagdale said, " The all-India senior selection committee will meet at the cricket centre in Mumbai on July 4 to pick the Indian teams for the ODI and T20 International series in Sri Lanka in July-August. Alan Issac named as new ICC president

Former New Zealand Cricket chief, Alan Isaac elected as the president of the International Cricket Council for a two-year term at the ICC Annual Conference. The 60-year-old Isaac, is the eighth president of the ICC.

Sri Lanka Test squad for Pakistan series

Jeevan Mendis , Uncapped all-rounder has been included in a 15-member Test squad against Pakistan starting from Friday. Mendis, 29, has played three Twenty20 games and 20 One-Day Internationals. Mahela Jayawardene will be the skipper. England batsman Tom Maynard dead at 23

Surrey's Tom Maynard , England's most promising batsmen, died at the age of 23 after being hit by a London Underground train in the early hours of Monday morning. A BTP spokesman said: " BTP officers were called to the line near Wimbledon Park London Underground station on Monday, 18 June after a man was struck by a District line train. " He began his career with Glamorgan at the start of last season.

India in Sri Lanka for ODI's and T20

India will play five One-day internationals and two Twenty20 matches in Sri Lanka from the mid of July. Due to hectic schedule, the BCCI couldn't accommodate the Test series. Sri Lanka Premier League Without Indians

The BCCI has once again rejected Sri Lanka Cricket's (SLC) appeal to let Indian play in the Sri Lanka Premier League (SLPL). A BCCI official said, " They (SLC) did approach us, but we may not be in a position to send our players. " In August, India will host a two-Test series against New Zealand.

The Middlesex seamer, Tim Murtagh has been included in Ireland's 13-man squad for the one-day international against Australia in the Stormont on June 23. Michael Hussey out of England, Ireland Tour

Michael Hussey has withdrawn himself from the 15-man squad tour to England and Ireland, just because of the birth of his fourth child, Cricket Australia said. Hussey's place will be taken by Queensland batsman Peter Forrest , who has played only 11 ODIs so far. The tour will starts on June 21 including five one-day internationals against britishers and one against Irish. Hussey said " due to our baby being born three months early, it is important for the family for me to be here at this time. It is always difficult to miss any tour for Australia and I thank CA for their understanding of our family's situation. "

Somerset sign Kevin O'Brien

Somerset has sign Irish allrounder Kevin O'Brien to play Friends Life T20 matches, South Africa's Richard Levi and Albie Morkel are the other overseas players that are playing for Somerset. David Miller signs Yorkshire for t20

The South African batsman, David Miller has signed Yorkshire as their second overseas player for the Friends Life t20. Miller played last season's competition for Durham. Miller has also played in IPL season 5 and for South Africa T20s and ODIs. Martyn Moxon, The director of Yorkshire's cricket said, " David is available for the whole tournament which made him an attractive proposition. You look at his strike-rate, he averages 120-plus per 100 balls, and in the Indian Premier League he's been scoring at 150-plus.He's that explosive type of player we've been looking for. Kevin Pietersen retires from England one-day cricket

England star player Kevin Pietersen retired from all forms of international limited overs cricket. He will remain available for Test match player only. Pietersen said, " After a great deal of thought and deliberation, I am today announcing my retirement from international one-day cricket. I am immensely proud of my achievements in the one-day game, and still wish to be considered for selection for England in Test cricket. " He has scored 4,184 runs with an average of 42 in ODI and averages 38 in international T20 cricket.
