Brendan Drew joins Melbourne Renegades


Melbourne Renegades have confirmed the signing of the fast bowler Brendan Drew for this season's Big Bash League.


Last summer Drew had played with the Adelaide Strikers and the 28 year-old has also been a regular player for Tasmania.

Simon Helmot, the Renegades coach, said, "Brendan is a handy T20 bowler and he proved as much with the Strikers last season. He's certainly been a consistent performer in the shortest form of the game at the domestic level, He's also shown he can handle the willow and has a T20 strike rate of 128 from his 19 games for the Strikers and Tasmania."

Nathan Bracken sues Cricket Australia

Melbourne, Thursday, October 13, 2011 Former Australian fast bowler Nathan bracken has taken Cricket Australia (CA) to the court, claiming that when he was struggling with his chronic knee injury then he did not receive any compensation for lost wages, damages and medical expenses from Cricket Australia. Bracken took his retirement in January and could not play the entire 2010 season last year due to injury. According to the report of Daily Telegraph Bracken is seeking about $1 million from CA.
