India’s legendary batsman Sachin Tendulkar has been named the best Test cricketer of the 21st century by by Cricket Australia's website. An online poll conducted by CA website, in which the 42-year-old bagged the highest number of votes to become on top of the list of the 100 best Test players since 2000. Sri Lanka's Wicket-keeper batsman Kumar Sangakkara received the second highest votes, followed by Australian legend Adam Gilchrist in the third position. Tendulkar earned 23% of votes, while Sangakkara got 14% votes. The former India skipper, Tendulkar, is the only Indian player to be listed in the top-10 list, while there are four Aussie, three South African and two Sri Lankan cricketers. The Legendary wicketkeeper-batsman Kumar Sangakkara is expected to retire from Test cricket in August 2015, when Sri Lanka will play their first Test against India at Galle, starting August 18th. Sangakkara, 37, who already announced his retirement form one-day internationals and Twenty20 format, is likely to finalise his decision on his Test cricket future after having a meeting with the national selectors next week. The Test match series for the India yet to be formally announced, amid speculation that wicketkeeper’s farewell match to be played to his home city of Kandy. England and Somerset wicket-keeper Craig Kieswetter has took retirement from all forms of cricket with an immediate effect due to a serious eye injury, sustained last summer. The 27-year-old gloveman suffered an injury to his eye through his helmet grille when a ball hit him while batting in a County Championship match against Northants in July 2014. The South-African born cricketer has played 46 ODIs and 25 Twenty20 internationals for England, but was never played at Test level.
